Family violence is much too common in our society, and no victim should suffer in silence.
We must reach out to anyone who we suspect is in an abusive situation.
Elder abuse is any mistreatment or lack of appropriate action that results in harm to an elderly person, or puts him/her at risk of being harmed.
As it pertains to domestic violence, this can include physical abuse, neglect, abandonment/isolation, obstruction of services, sexual abuse, financial exploitation, emotional/verbal abuse and stalking.
To report suspected elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation, please visit the State Department of Human Services website to find the number for their local Adult Protective Services.

Our thoughts are with her family today.

"We have to work to find ways to make retirement more affordable in New Jersey so that retirees can support themselves financially.
"Retirement should not just be for the wealthy. Everyone deserves a secure retirement and the opportunity to live with dignity after working to support themselves and their families."

"I encourage you to get involved in your communities, educate yourselves and one another about the issues that you care about, and most importantly, to remember to vote. The act of voting is essential to our democratic way of life and contributes to the strength and vitality of our state and nation."
-- Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro

Pay it forward this coming holiday season with Cardinal Village! Cardinal Village Senior Living Community will be having a Food Drive at the community throughout the month of November to help families in need.
From Nov. 1-30, Cardinal Village is collecting non-perishable food items that do not have an expired date to be donated to Mother's Cupboard.
Mother's Cupboard provides groceries to families in need in the community. In addition, if you receive a free, frozen turkey from the grocery store and won't be using it, you may bring it to the community so it can be donated to a family that needs it.
Anyone wishing to donate can drop off their items at Cardinal Village, located at 455 Hurffville-Cross Keys Rd., Sewell.
For more information, please call 856-582-5292.
