Boo at the Zoo in Bridgeton drew 4,300 people and collected $80 in donations.
Radio talk-show host Richard Hoch had this to say about charging a fee:
"Ask for the money and they will not come. Folks are conditioned to get things/access for nothing. I'm surprised they got $80.''
--
We believe Bridgeton people are conditioned to believe they cannot draw to an event in the city unless they offer it free.
That's called low self-esteem.
It's driven by negative comments from surrounding areas.

Checking in the newsroom with Mighty Mouse:
"For those of you who know, I quit smoking just over three months ago and I have gone through the process of using the patches and vaping to break the habit.
"Once I was off the patches, I only vaped, gradually working my way down on nicotine levels.
"I started at 24mg and, today, I have stepped down again, and I'm officially on only 6mg of nicotine.
"Soon, I'll be at 0 nicotine and will have all nicotine out of my system. Just needed to share. You may carry on with your day now. That's all.''

A Salem City man who authorities say owes more than $46,000 in overdue child support has been arrested in the Salem County Sheriff's Office's latest warrant sweep.

OK, now what?
If he's in jail, he now owes the rest of us.
There is no way he can pay the $46,000, even if you threatened him with death.
--
Maybe the moral of the story is to not let the total climb so high.
Stick a pin in his comfort zone at the $1,000 level when you can confiscate property.
Arrest at $46,000 is a waste of funds.
