Monster Energy/Graves Motorsports Yamaha's Josh Hayes and Cameron Beaubier have exchanged jabs for eight rounds and 16 races in the 2015 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North America Superbike Championship.

It's a title fight that has gone back and forth, round by round, punch by punch.

But now it all comes down to the final round at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Sept. 11-13, to see who will be the last man standing.

Only one of them can walk away with the first-ever MotoAmerica Superbike Championship.

It was supposed to be spinal stenosis.

But the surgeon says the stenosis doesn't look bad enough to be causing so much pain in the left leg.

So it could be the neuropathy.

Or it could be the hip.

Blood tests to follow.

Participants (ages 13 and up) will give up their bed and comforts of home for just one night to help their neighbors in need.

What if the second rumrunner hunt down the Cohansey River overflows again?

The first trip was during the Cohansey RiverFest and some people got left at the Bridgeton boat ramp.

So D. Renee Brecht and Flavia Alaya are back again with "Rum River and the 'Baywalk Empire': How Down Jersey Dodged Prohibition from Bridgeton to the Bayshore,'' on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Departs Boat Ramp parking lot (SE corner East Broad Street at the Broad Street Bridge, Bridgeton) at 1 p.m. and returns about 4:30 p.m.

They're allowing a little more time and hoping to get to Bayside this time ahead of the tide.

Cost is $10.

To those who were disappointed at the RiverFest, you are first up! Please send confirming email direct to Meredith Brown at meredith@littoralsociety.org ASAP.

It is not uncommon for students to gain a bit of weight in their freshman year.

But 15 pounds is inaccurate. Most freshmen will gain closer to 3-4 pounds, according to recent research.

Students in their freshman year experience a whole new lifestyle and their habits change. They may sleep less, exercise less, and drink alcohol more. All of these factors can contribute to weight gain.

Stay active, even now that physical education is no longer a required course. Hit the gym or go on a walk with friends a few times a week.

In addition to making healthy food choices, give some thought to what you drink! Many beverage options -- from lattes to soda to beer -- are typically nonnutritive.

There's nothing good in them and they are high in calories. Just adding a few drinks a week can account for gaining a few pounds in and of itself.

Opt for a home-cooked -- or dorm-cooked -- meal whenever possible. "Eating in" means smaller portions and usually healthier options.

Keep fruits and veggies that you like close by.

Cafeteria eating can be dangerous because a lot of food is fried and portions are often big, especially if a meal plan allows unlimited returns to select more food.

While experts are writing about college students gaining weight, Cumberland County is the unhealthiest county in the state.

That's at home.

But some people have recently finished losing 100 pounds.

Others are leading exercise programs on the Internet.

MY KIND OF TOWN: Where new gyms are opening up all over the county, and shouldn't they make a difference?
