Woodstown High School graduated its 100th class.
WOODSTOWN -- Woodstown High School's Class of 2016 attended their graduation ceremony Friday evening, held on Clint Ware Field at Memorial Stadium.
This was the school's 100th graduating class.
Superintendent Thomas Coleman Jr. presented a plaque to Erin Jenkins for being the class valedictorian. As Coleman walked away, Jenkins appeared bewildered for a moment.
"Mr. Coleman," Jenkins spoke into the microphone. "Mr. Coleman, I think you have my speech."
After a short roar of laughter from the graduating class, faculty and crowd in the stands, Coleman returned to the podium.
"I have never done that before," Coleman said with a smile.
Rachel Zarin was recognized as salutatorian.
The Class of 2016 officers -- president David O'Kane, vice president Gavin Rapa, secretary Hillary Hathaway and treasurer Lauren Major -- presented a framed rendering of the class gift to Mark Kelty, president of the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Regional School District Board of Education. A brick sidewalk will be installed at the front of the school.
