The column that has been accused of flakiness more than once in its life
The column that has been accused of flakiness more than once in its life
--
Good morning!
--
It's prom season for all the area high schools and, even though this advice comes a bit late for all the teenagers, I feel compelled to share it. Why do I feel so compelled? Because a memory is wasted if it isn't shared and because I'm the one with a column to fill.
Listen: During my high school career of being a snot-nosed teenager I went to three proms and all three were very underwhelming experiences.
I expected grandeur and spectacle and, on a very basic level, fun. It was none of those things
So, if you didn't go to prom or if you went and had a good time, don't be too worried about it. If you did have the time of your life, then I am glad you had a good time.
What's some of your prom stories, dear reader? Feel free to share them. I'm sure the statute of limitations has worn out.

"Great first day home -- got to spend it with some outstanding students, teachers and faculty at Woodstown High School who sent me a generous care package over the holidays. Proud to call this school my alma mater!"
- Jim Cook Jr.

For those with shorter memories, Cook is a former South Jersey Times and News of Cumberland County reporter, playwright, supporter of the arts and all around great person. He's also in the military now so he's a lot cooler than I'll ever be.
