Camden County College's 2016 commencement ceremony was held in the Truman Courtyard of the Blackwood Campus.
BLACKWOOD -- The pending rain held off just long enough for the graduates of Camden County College to celebrate a milestone in their lives with family and friends.
Of the 1,708 graduates, 630 walked Friday morning, and received their diplomas during a ceremony in the Truman Courtyard of the Blackwood Campus.
In his final act as president, Dr. Raymond Yannuzzi presided over the College's 48th annual Commencement.
Yannuzzi, after 11 years as president, will return to the faculty in the fall.
Associate professor Michael Billingsley received the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award.
Timothy Lenahan, men's soccer coach at Northwestern University, received the Outstanding Alumnus Award. Lenahan graduated from Camden County College in 1980 as a computer science major, but after 11 years in the industry, decided to become a college soccer coach.
Freeholder Jeffrey Nash was recognized for his part in the Transformation Initiative at Camden County College, an $83 million, county and state-funded renovation project which is now complete.
Nash was involved in obtaining the chapter 12 funding formula that allowed the transformation initiative to begin.
The commencement address was given by Dr. Adrienne Kirby, president and CEO of Cooper University Health Care.
Joy Dickson, an Education graduate from Cherry Hill, gave the student address.
