Chick-fil-A sends care packages to troops
Chick-fil-A restaurants hosted a care package packing event as the culmination of its "Cookies for Christmas" fundraiser. The fundraiser raised a total of $18,871. The money enabled Chick-fil-A team members to make up than 700 care packages, each weighing around 25-30 pounds, that would serve an entire troop or unit.
South Jersey Chick-fil-A team members teamed up for a day of service benefiting Operation Yellow Ribbon South Jersey and honoring Martin Luther King Jr. at the Woodbury Heights Community Center. Approximately 60 Chick-fil-A team members helped assemble the care packages.
The South Jersey Chick-fil-A team members packed 1,129 pounds of goods into 41 care packages that were mailed out Jan. 20 to troops stationed overseas.
