"I'm one of the new owners of the Kountry kitchen.
"I'm posting this because last night we were robbed. I want everyone in the area to please be aware that there is someone very brazen in the area and also to let all the other businesses in the area know to please be on alert.
"If anyone knows or hears anything we would greatly appreciate it.''

Wilmington City and state officials announced Friday the indictment of 13 "Touch Money Gang" members on 91 charges including murder, robbery, conspiracy and weapons charges.
All 13 are now in custody following a monthslong investigation into gang activity, state Attorney General Matt Denn said. Members of the gang who were arrested range in age from 15-23.
This is considered the "largest indictment in memory" by the Department of Justice in terms of the number of homicides and shootings involved in the charges.
The crimes include six slayings, five shootings with injuries and a bank robbery.
"The level of violence and brazenness alleged to have been exhibited by TMG members is shocking," Denn said. "The number of shots being fired and the indiscriminate nature of the shootings are alarming."

"Grandpop's first store was at 100 E. Commerce St.
"The address should sound familiar. He was moved out in 1924 to make room for the Stanley Theater.
"His next store was at 48 S. Pearl St. next to Tommy Ayars' Sinclair station. That's where it was located until the early-to-mid-seventies when the block was condemned to make room for the bank.
"That's when he moved back to East Commerce Street into the store that you remember that was Uncle Arnold's.
"Grandpop "retired," but he continued to go to work daily for several years.
The Pearl Street store was a remarkable place. I would spend hours there, just looking at the wide assortment of tools and gadgets and trying to figure out what they did. I think he had 5 or 6 different kinds of mousetraps in a few different sizes.''

Who were the bookies back then, Sam?
And don't say Big John.
He just carried bets to the track for friends.
