Good afternoon!

No retiring for Mickey Gentile.

"Well, good news.

"I just got back from my ... now, let's see ... which doctor is it this time?

"Oh, yeah, my podiatrist! After a month in the boot, my displaced heel bone has 'reconnected' and I'm out of my boot! Now I can start getting ready for next season of baseball and races.

"Maybe I can get through at least another season.''

-- Mickey

"Why is our track fenced and locked unused all summer and weekends?

"Other cities have open track fields.

"No gates for public to use when we paid for it?!

"Other schools seem to manage. Why should people go to another town's school's  track to run?''

-- Sheila Brunner

If any Green Acres funding was used it cannot be denied use to the public.

Otherwise, contact your board of education.

How on edge are we?

"I am speaking from working in a school. We had a bomb drill. Students were texting parents.

"Parents were showing up at the school freaking out because administration would not let their kid leave during the drill.

"So now we have parents freaking out unnecessarily, the bomb unit and fire department. Now the police holding parents back who thought it was OK to show up and try to take their kid.''

Bridgeton PAL is sending out a request for making up two basketball teams to represent Bridgeton Area Police Athletic League in a new traveling basketball league.

They are slated to start practicing in early January.

Due to the small size of these two teams, this opportunity is a first come, first served invitation. For 11-13 and 14-16 age groups.

"Christmas cards are started! Our goal is 500!

"We want to share our love with as many people as we can.

"Sending cards to Walter Reed Army hospital, Vineland Veterans Memorial Home, Atlantic City Rescue Mission and Genesis.''

In 2014, South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter and Cumberland County SPCA was able to save over 850 cats and kittens by transferring them to several rescue partners!

In order to be considered as a candidate for rescue, each and every cat/kitten must be tested for feline leukemia and feline immumodeficiency virus.

Each combo test costs $25. You can help by sponsoring a cats rescue and purchasing their combo test.
