Good morning!

Worst hurricane ever tracked in the Western Hemisphere attacking Mexico.
Is this the beginning of the end, and if it is, whose fault is it, brutal ISIS, the drug epidemic or gluttonous Americans?
But, to think, it happened on our watch.

Democratic legislators are developing strategies for investment initiatives in each of six identified vital areas:
* Early childhood education.
* College affordability.
* World class transportation.
* "Promise neighborhoods" to revitalize communities.
* Public-private partnerships to aid job creation.
*and retirement security. Senator Ruiz, who chairs the Senate Education Committee, is leading the effort on early childhood education, which includes child care.
Existing research shows that early learning initiatives, which can include child care, provide benefits to society of at least $7 for every $1 spent, from increased earnings, decreased educational costs and saving in crime reduction.

The easiest is early childhood education.
The hardest is "promise neighborhoods'' because no one is willing to go into those neighborhoods, and it's a long way from Trenton to the projects.
Harder than Hannibal crossing the Alps, even if you could find elephants.

Hey, Jack,
"Apartment List recently analyzed 2007-2014 Census data to see which cities and states have the most cost-burdened renters (those spending more than 30 percent of their income on rent).
"Here are some of the highlights from our report:
"The share of cost-burdened renters in New Jersey increased from 51.2 percent in 2007 to 52.9 percent in 2014.
"The share of cost-burdened renters in the US rose from 49.3 percent to a high of 53.4 percent in 2011 - an increase of 1.7 million renter households.
"It has fallen a bit since then, to 51.8 percent in 2014.
"Surprisingly, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, and Austin performed relatively well -- incomes have largely increased in line with rent growth.Miami, Detroit, and Los Angeles were among the worst performers in our study, with more than 60 percent of cost-burdened renters.
"We have data for 50 states, 454 cities, and 922 counties across the United States, so please reach out if there is specific data that you are interested in seeing.
"Contact me at andrew@apartmentlist.com and I'll be happy to respond via email or to set up a phone call.''
