The column that asks, is it true what one Bridgeton wag told us that residents of Hopewell and Upper Deerfield are afraid to come downtown to the Bridgeton CrabFest, or is he thinking sideways again?

Know what the secret was in the beginning?
Frank Harris & Son.
It's like pulling Tulowitzki and Encarcnacion from the lineup.

"Very surprised and very honored to be recognized by the Tri-County Midget Football League at the 2015 coaches dinner.
"I want to thank the TCMFL board, Paul Berry, Sam Miletta, who brought me into coaching, my wife Debbie, who put up with me for this long, and all the coaches who did it for me when I played.
"Can't believe it has been 24 years.
"I'm officially a grey beard.''
-- Carl Hemple Jr.

If not for Carl Hemple Jr., Bridgeton Midget Football would still not be back in Tri-County.
If not for him, Cumberland Midget Football would have never started.
They picked on the right guy to honor this time.

"I kept trying to be cool but I kept getting into trouble, so I decided to just be me and I started to get blessed and in the process I found out that I was already cool.
"I learned that if you stop wasting all that energy trying to be someone that your not you'll probably like the person that you are.''

He's cool, and he's making a lot of other people cool in the process because he'll go anywhere for you but backward.

You want to see a really close-knit family?
Millville coach Bob Hogan is on the road to recovery and his fellow coaches over the years are with him every step of the way.
"Tony, Wayne, Eddie and I visited Hoag today, and shot this one of he and Sandy before we left.
"Hoag is showing improvement every time we visit.''

New Jersey Motorsports Park Fast Facts:
With his eight wins thus far in 2015, Cameron Beaubier now has 11 career Superbike wins.
That puts him in a tie for 15th on the all-time win list with Australian Anthony Gobert.
A win at New Jersey Motorsports Park would move Beaubier into a tie with MotoAmerica rider representative and former AMA Superbike Champion Doug Chandler.
Beaubier comes into the New Jersey round with an 18-point lead over his teammate, Josh Hayes.
If Beaubier earns his first career MotoAmerica Superbike Championship, he will become the 20th different rider to win the title in the series that began in 1976 with the crowning of its first champion, Reg Pridmore.
Of Josh Hayes' 56 career Superbike wins, nine of those have come at New Jersey Motorsports Park, making him the most successful of the current crop of MotoAmerica racers who will race in New Jersey, Sept. 11-13.
