The Woodstown High School Drama Club will be presenting its annual student-directed fall play on Nov. 16-19 in the Woodstown High School Auditorium. This year, the drama club is offering three separate one-act plays: two dramas ("Persuasion" and "Tracks") and a comedy ("Escape to Cancel").

This trilogy of one acts is being billed as "An Array of Plays." The first show date will be a free Generations Reach Out performance for senior citizens at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16. Public Performances are on Thursday and Friday evening, Nov. 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m., followed by a final "Twilight" performance at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19. Tickets are $7 for all public performances. Paul Kranz is the advisor of the fall play and the student directors are Sammie Boyer, John Egan, Mary Velahos, Kendra Wilson, and Allison Young.  Approximately 50 Woodstown High students are working to co-produce these plays in the cast and crew combined.

"Persuasion" is a drama by Ashley J. Barnard, based on the original novel by Jane Austen. In 1806, Anne Elliot falls in love with Captain Wentworth, despite his lack of fortune and prospects. Against her heart, she is persuaded to break off the engagement by Lady Russell, a close family friend. Eight years later, Anne encounters Captain Wentworth once more. The prior years of bitterness and resentment will truly test their love for each other, as well as Anne's will to resist the persuasion of others.

"Escape to Cancel" is a comedy by Tim Mogford. Anyone who has ever attempted to cancel their service with any "tech" company will sympathize immediately with Meghan, the protagonist. On her way to work one morning, she decides to "quickly" drop off her cancellation form she filled out from the company's website -- but of course the situation becomes much more complicated than that.

"Tracks" is a contemporary drama by Peter Tarsi. A group of strangers meet in a dirty subway station. They have arrived with limited personal belongings, their watches have stopped, and they all claim to be in different cities. Soon they learn there is no way out of the station, and the unfortunate truth is told to them -- they are all dead. Is the train leaving from the platform they are on bound for Heaven or Hell? They reflect upon their lives and they must decide whether to stay on the platform or get on the train for their final destination.
