Luncheon supports the operation of the society's museum
SALEM -- Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro attended the Salem County Historical Society's Annual luncheon on Sunday, Sept. 18. The luncheon supports the operation of the society's museum and various educational programs.
The Salem County Historical Society was founded in 1884 and currently operates a museum and research library at the Alexander Grant Historic House Museum and Josephine Jaquette Research Library in Salem City. The hours of operation are from noon to 4 p.m.. Tuesday through Saturday. and admission to either facility is $5.
The society documents and preserves the heritage of Salem County through numerous collections and exhibits, which are donated by Salem County residents.
"For residents looking to explore a new site or activity, a visit to the local historical society is a worthwhile trip," said Assemblyman Taliaferro. "Salem County has a rich history and we can learn a lot through the outstanding work of the Historical Society."
