Law Enforcement Exploring is a worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are 14 years of age but have not yet reached their 21st birthday.

Law Enforcement Explorer Posts help youth to gain insight into a variety of programs that offer hands-on career activities. For young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement, Exploring offers experiential learning with hands-on activities that promote the growth and development of adolescent youth.

The Carneys Point/Penns Grove Municipal Alliance is having open enrollment in its Law Enforcement Explorer Post. As a member of the post, you will get to experience opportunities and participate in many facets of law enforcement. Some of the exciting topics that we will cover are:

  • Accident scene investigations
  • Building searches
  • Crime scene processing
  • Defensive tactics
  • Collection and preservation of a crime scene
  • Leadership development
  • Community policing
  • Drug and alcohol prevention
  • Firearms familiarization
  • Police ride along program

Explorers will also attend trips and tours of other law Enforcement Agencies throughout the year.

Additionally, this program will provide support and guidance into becoming Law Enforcement Professionals. As a member you will be eligible for scholarships as well as being able to fulfill required volunteer time that education institutions and future employers seek. If you are interested in the field of law enforcement, then the Carneys Point/Penns Grove Municipal Alliance Law Enforcement Explorer Program is for you.

Registration fee is $20.

An open house will be held at the YMCA of Salem County on Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. If you want to join or have questions contact: Cpl. Andrew Kleban, Carneys Point Police at 856-299-1212 or Patrolman Anthony Minguez, Penns Grove Police 856-299-0055.
