The Salem County native who shot and killed a security officer at LAX will plead guilty.
The gunman originally from Salem County who shot and killed a federal airport screening officer in Los Angeles in 2013 has agreed to plead guilty in an agreement filed in the U.S. District Court Thursday, the Associated Press reports.
Paul Ciancia, 26, who was from Pennsville Township, will not get a death sentence but faces a mandatory life in prison for the shooting three years ago, according to reports.
Ciancia was charged in November 2013 with the murder of Gerardo Hernandez, a security officer at the Los Angeles Airport, as well as injuring three other people.

The Pennsville man grew up in Salem County and lived on East Pittsfield Street. He still has family in the area.
Ciancia's family declined comment when asked Friday morning.
Ciancia, who was a 2008 graduate of Salesianum School in Wilmington Delaware, used a semi-automatic rifle to kill the security officer at a checkpoint in the airport.
Ciancia left New Jersey and was living out West for the past 18 months or so.
The plea deal was filed Thursday -- Ciancia will plead guilty on the murder of Hernandez when he is due in court Tuesday to retract his initial not guilty plea, the AP reports.
