There is great news for the black drum fishing especially in Delaware Bay.
Stripers up to 51 pounds have been reported up and down the coast especially in the surf around Cape May Point. Blues are biting all up and down the coast especially slammers up to 15 pounds.
And flounder fishing has been coming on strong in the inlets and back bays with fish up to 8 pounds reported.
And even though you can only keep one fish 17 inches or longer some weakfish are making an appearance along with a few kingfish in the mix and for the charter boat bottom fishermen sea bass and tog are making things worthwhile.
Now as long as the weather holds up I don't know how you can beat a variety like this. Plus the perch fishing has been outstanding in all of the creeks and rivers.
Husted's Landing has Ron Payne and Janet Belmonte of Bridgeton fill up the cooler with 54 perch.
Also John Paterno and son of Fairton bring in four nice stripers while fishing in the lower bay.
Haase's Marina had the "No Sweat" have another good night drum fishing when they caught six. Also Pete Neilson came in with two nice drum.
Bob at Anchor Marina had Mark Robinson of Millville bring in a 74 pound drum. Fiore Cheli of Vineland came in with two drum and Bill Mueller had three drum.
He also had a variety of fish brought in. Four big blues, two weakfish and three kingfish. How about that being a good sign!
