Salem American Legion Band presents patriotic concert

Under the sponsorship of the Woodstown Rotary Club, the Salem American Legion Band will present its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at Salem Community College's Davidow Auditorium, 460 Hollywood Ave. in Carneys Point.

The band is under the direction of PatriciaD. Bullock.

The concert will begin with patriotic marches "Americans We" and "March Grandioso." A special setting of John McCrae's poem "In Flanders Fields" will be sung and played by band members.  This arrangement by composer Kirkland Adsettis dedicated to the Salem American Legion Band.

Music devoted to honoring and remembering our men and women who have served and are serving in our armed forces will follow.

Each branch of our military will be recognized as the band plays "Armed Forces - The Pride of America".  All veterans attending will meet at the front of the auditorium as the band closes with "Battle Hymn of the Republic".

This concert is free and open to the public. Ample parking is available at the college and the building is handicapped accessible. For additional information, call 856-935-0293.
