David Levin writes that little attention went to a 20-point scoring performance by a player who came off the bench.

To the Editor:

Congratulations to the Villanova Wildcats, the 2016 NCAA men's basketball national champions.

I watched the April 4 championship game, and the post-game activities and interviews. I saw media interviews of three Villanova players: Kris Jenkins, who scored the game-winning buzzer-beater; and seniors Daniel Ochefu and Ryan Arcidiacono.

Unfortunately, the real star of the team was not interviewed. A player who did not even start the game scored the most points: 20. Phil Booth did not get full recognition for the outstanding game he played. He should have been interviewed with the other three players.

The final score was Villanova 77, North Carolina 74. Without Booth's 20 points, the score could have been North Carolina 74, Villanova 54.

Phil Booth: You were the unsung hero of the game.

Two transit agencies not better than one

To the Editor:

NJ Transit has told Gov. Chis Christie they need more money to fill a $57 million budget deficit, even though commuter fares were raised 9 percent last year. The agency's plea was rejected.

Christie is also withholding state financial aid to Atlantic City because he sees its municipal budget as bloated, with too many public officials having six-figure annual salaries.

Before NJ Transit is granted another fare increase, how about if a list of all of its its "six-figure club" employees is made available to the public? Are we getting our money's worth from these highly compensated executives when their budgeting skills are less than impressive?

Here's a real scary thought: The Delaware River Port Authority -- which has $1.6 billion in debt even after raising bridge tolls from $4 to $5 - is project manager for the proposed Glassboro-Camden light rail line, which could be operated by NJ Transit.

My mother used a phrase, which now may fall into politically incorrect territory, to describe some of my youthful adventures undertaken with my friends: The blind leading the blind.

Certainly a DRPA and NJ Transit partnership could be classified as the incompetent leading the incompetent.
