Ryan Simpkins and Taylor Brown are the Pennsville Eagle's Parent Athletic Association (PEPPA) Scholar-Athletes for the month of October.

Ryan Simpkins has been a three-season athlete in all four of his years at Pennsville Memorial High School. Ryan was a key offensive guard and middle linebacker on the 2015 SJ Group I Championship team. He is a member of the wrestling team, along with participating in the shot put and discus for the spring track & field team.  Ryan is also very active in the Journalism Club. He creates videos and skits for the morning news, as well as, edits videos from the school's seasonal pep rallies and for many other special occasions throughout the school. Ryan is also an "anchor" for the Pennsville morning news. While Ryan is not working as an expeditor at the Riverview Inn restaurant, you may find him enjoying a game of chess with the other members of the Chess Club. Ryan plans on attending college in the fall. He is currently looking at Ursinus, Muhlenberg and Rowan, to hopefully continue his academic and athletic career. Ryan is the son of Edward and Denise Simpkins of Pennsville.

Taylor Brown is a four-year varsity letter winner in both soccer and softball at PMHS. During her soccer tenure in sophomore and junior years, she was named 1st team All-conference. During her senior year, she was named 2nd team All-conference and captain of the team. During softball season, Taylor received her 100th hit during her junior year and signed with Iona College for a Division I softball scholarship. Taylor also plays on a softball fast pitch travel team year-round. She was inducted into the National Honor Society during her junior year. She is a Golden Eagle -- a distinguished honor at PMHS. Taylor is involved in clubs and organizations such as the journalism/media club, student council and Chinese club. She also volunteers at Ranch Hope and works a part-time job. She plans to study speech pathology at Iona College. Taylor is the daughter of Ed and Nicole Brown of Pennsville.
