New Jersey State Police have identified the woman killed in South Jersey fire.
UPPER PITTSGROVE TWP. -- The woman who died in a house fire over the weekend has been identified by New Jersey State Police as Cecelia Lesti.
Lesti, 85, was trapped in her home, located off Groff Road, Saturday afternoon in the Monroeville section of Upper Pittsgrove.
The 85-year-old woman died in the fire, according to police, while a second person successfully escaped the house.
Lesti and Georg Lesti owned the home since 1990, according to tax records.
Firefighters battle blaze at historic N.J. tavern
Firefighters and emergency personnel responded to the blaze at 4:40 p.m.
Police are still investigating the cause of the fire.
