The Faith and Freedom Coalition of New Jersey's first meeting of the year will feature the Rev. Dave Bailey as speaker.
WOODSTOWN -- The Rev. Dave Bailey Sr. will be the guest speaker at the first 2016 meeting of the Faith and Freedom Coalition of New Jersey Tuesday evening.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. the Woodstown Moose Lodge.
With all the unrest in the world today, the Faith and Freedom Coalition of New Jersey wanted to start the new year off on a positive note so they chose Bailey to speak, Coalition organizers say.
In 1962, Bailey and his wife, Eileen, founded Ranch Hope in Alloway Township.
While Bailey was in the pastorate, he gave a speech to a local service organization entitled, "Youth in Trouble." After the meeting, a member of the organization challenged Bailey to do something about the problems he had outlined in his talk.
The seed was planted for the creation of Ranch Hope.
When Bailey's plan was made known to the public, an insurance man from Bridgeton made the first contribution -- $20 -- and that gift helped to launch Ranch Hope.
Bailey is also the host and founder of Ranch Hope Radio program, "The Wondrous Story, (a 15-minute weekday program) and "His Music Place," (a 30-minute weekend program) from his office studio on the Ranch Hope campus.
Each broadcast, Bailey talks about what's happening in the news, "The Signs of Our Times," plays great music, and provides an inspirational devotional message.
Bailey has always defined hope as "an expectation of success." This is Ranch Hope's motto and words he lives by every day.
The Woodstown Moose Lodge is located at,13 By-Pass Road, Woodstown. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the program begins promptly at 7 p.m.
