N.J. woman injured while walking in hit-and-run, police say

A 28-year-old woman was injured while walking in Pennsville Township after a hit-and-run accident Wednesday night, authorities said.

PENNSVILLE TWP. -- A 28-year-old woman was injured while walking in Pennsville Township after a hit-and-run accident Wednesday night, authorities said.

The woman was walking along Wingate Drive around 8:08 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound, according to Pennsville Police Chief Allen Cummings.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene after hitting the woman and has not yet been located, Cummings said.

Police continue to probe into South Jersey burglaries

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the woman to Crozier Medical Center in Chester, Pennsylvania for non-life threatening injuries.

Police are currently investigating witnesses and seeking information on the vehicle the struck the woman.
