The column that says who knew a proposed roundabout in Bridgeton City Park would draw 100 percent criticism from adoring area fans?

--

Good evening!

--

County government has gotten a lot of flak for some proposals, but none more than a circle at the north end of the city park in Bridgeton where Sunset Lake bask in he algae every summer and the Donald Rainear AmphiTheater is never called by its proper name.

It wouldn't surprise us if the state ordered the project.

Now, in Millville, they would say, the intersection there has been that way since 1912, so why do we have to change it now?

What most people are complaining about is the cost for something they don't see as a problem.

This is going to be what makes it OK: "The state is going to pay for it, and if we don't spend the money, we will lose it, and somebody else will get it.''

What is not going to make it OK is that Park Drive has been closed down so many times for construction projects that it should be labeled a temporary road.

Sam Feinstein had to shut down the comments on Bridgeton Community Bulletin Board because it was no longer a discussion -- all one-sided.

Will this triple the attendance at the next Bridgeton City Council meeting?

Maybe.

Even though it's the county's idea, there is more room at city council than there is at freeholder meetings. A whole courtroom, in fact.

Christmas is typically the largest economic stimulus for many nations around the world as sales increase dramatically in almost all retail areas.

The United States' retail industry generated over three trillion U.S. dollars during the holidays in 2013.

These holiday sales reflected about 19.2 percent of the retail industries total sales that year. As a result, just over 768 thousand employees were hired throughout the United States to compensate for the holiday rush.

Why is it we can only get crime statistics from 2014 now, but, in Arkansas, Walmart headquarters knows exactly what you bought today in their store as soon as the cashier rang up the sale?

--

We hope there are as many World War II veterans around next Christmas as this holiday season.

We don't want to let go of the Greatest Generation.
